Ways You Can Help!
When discussing the www.iwishihaditmyway.com website with a person who had just reviewed it, he said: “I
agree with practically everything you have written! But we can’t do anything about it. I guess we’ll just have to live with it!”
We do NOT have to live with it and there is no reason why we SHOULD let the people who are bent upon destroying our Country have their way. The big
problem is, in the past 60 years, we allowed things to get so completely out of hand that Congress, like the UN, is irrelevant! That means we have
to get the elephant back to believing in America.
The people CAN stop the slow march toward totalitarianism. We CAN stop the individuals who have forgotten they are elected “by the people and for the people” and wish to assist in The Demise of America As We KNEW It. After all, we did stop the amnesty bill; three times.

We, as patriots, have got to stop being so amiable, acceptable and nice. We have got to get involved and do two basic things:
1. Vote For The Correct People!
Research the background and platform of the people who are running for election whether it is at the local, state or
federal levels and no matter what party they represent. Obviously the federal level is most important because their decisions effect our lives more
directly and we are heard less at each higher level.
- Use the internet to research the different candidates. Save information relevant to making a decision but if it looks illogical, check it out with one of the ‘checking systems’ such as Urban Legends.
- Read as much as you can. Use newspapers, magazines, e-mails, etc. Collect the data and store it on your hard drive for later summation.
- Listen to talk radio when interviews with the candidates, or others related to the election, are broadcast. Again write down those comments that seem important for determining a decision in your own mind.
- Watch debates of all parties and candidates. Again, record those comments that seem relevant to you making up your mind.
- Keep a running rating page for each candidate (pluses and minuses).
- Don’t reject a candidate because you disagree with him/her on a single issue, if the other qualities meet your rating system. You may be able to change his/her mind after election.
Apply the logic and common sense tests. If what you heard or read doesn’t pass either or both of these tests – be careful!
2. Become Active!
Most people in the Country not only don’t take an active part in being heard but only 1/3 of the people in the Country vote.
The following is a list of ways you can become involved and make your elected officials know you are watching and active in letting them know how
you feel:
- Attend as many political gatherings as you can (doesn’t matter which party). How can you disagree with a party or candidate’s platform if you don’t know what it is?
- Write letters to the editor of your local paper. You may get some letters of criticism in return but that’s good! Why? Because someone read your article!
- Send letters, faxes, and e-mails to your elected representatives. Pick a subject and flood them with all manner of communication concerning your feelings pro or con on the subject. That’s how we stopped the Amnesty bills. Some sites even generate the fax words for you and all you have to do is sign and send it.
- Get in contact with other organizations who feel the same as you do and ‘hook’ onto their activities. If you sign up on the web sites they will send you e-mails to notify you of their efforts and up coming activities. The FairTax site is an example.
- Attend rallies. For instance – there have been some rallies to bring to the notice of our elected officials the FairTax. The reason for the need for rallies is tp show the elected representatives a strong voice. Three or four people generally don’t draw much attention but thousands do. That does NOT mean that one person cannot make a difference. It has been done before, such as the crazy (and completely wrong) lady who managed to get prayer out of the schools or the crazier yet lady who convinced the powers that be to keep Rt. 66 in Virginia a four lane highway instead of six or eight and then moved to California. Now look at the mess on Rt. 66!
- Write books or articles and get as much coverage as you can. The way to get your point across is to make it known in as many ways as possible.
- Select the right candidate to vote for. People like Kennedy and Byrd have been in Congress almost since they became adults (if they ever did) and will remain because their constituents are in a rut and ceased to think many years ago. As long as they keep providing largess for their constituents they will continue to be elected. Unfortunately those constituents are me, my, and I oriented rather than Country oriented.
- Blog! There are many blog sites available. Don’t be afraid to blog on a site that seems opposed to your views. That’s how we all learn and it is imperative that we try to understand ‘the other side.’ (Go to my blog to get an idea how it works). See "read as much as you can", above.
Blogging is for debating! Don’t respond to one liners or single words. Ask the person for some ‘meat.’ You can’t debate a phantom! By debating you both may learn something, especially you! Click on any one of the “click here to fix America” links within the site and choose one of the 34 items to expound upon and use as a blog. You have my permission to use them word for word or expand or change to your words. If you do blog, please add the following at the end of your blog: "Please Visit: www.iwishihaditmyway.com"
In general, anything you can do on the internet will gain more bang for your time. Can you expect immediate response? No! It took us over 60 years to partially destroy the Country – can’t slam on the brakes over night. The political bureaucracy is too big to even budge over night. Both parties are in a quagmire. So what’s necessary? Select the right candidate and support the others who are helping to bring us out of the quagmire. Those candidates who speak candidly about America rather than specific states or areas are probably worth a second look.
Also when researching a particular candidate or a political subject, one cannot accept every piece you read or hear as being the truth. It takes a great deal of ‘digging’ to find the real truth. The politically correct (lying) doctrine of Slick Willie permeates not only the political scene but the media. One must spend time in the right places on the internet, read the right books, read the right pieces in the newspaper and for heavens sake you must do it with common sense. A very large portion of America has divorced itself from common sense.
Will all this take your time and some financing? You bet it will, but not as much as you think. The key is spending the time to become informed and to encourage your peers to do the same. Will the people bent on voting for the wrong people criticize you? You bet! I have been called almost everything but that’s what happens to activists who are ‘Dedicated to Restoring to Our Beloved Country, Its Sovereignty, and American Way of Life.’
